Rep. Severin Hosts 116th District Women Leaders in Springfield – Emerging Women Leaders Event Honors “Women to Watch” in Illinois

SPRINGFIELD – State Rep. Dave Severin (R-Benton) says he was proud to host guests at the Illinois State Capitol today as part of the Illinois House Republicans’ “Emerging Women Leaders” event. Dozens of women from around the State of Illinois came to Springfield to participate in a day’s long event that included listening sessions and meeting with Supreme Court Justice Lisa Holder White and the first-ever female leader of a General Assembly caucus, House Republican Leader Tony McCombie.

Severin hosted Christen Drew, the owner of Café Bloom and La Galarie in Benton. Severin says Drew and her husband Bryan are working hard to provide high-class dining and event services to the citizens of Franklin County and the entirety of Southern Illinois.

“Christen Drew is one of the hardest working people I know,” Severin said. “She has built small businesses in Benton that are employing people of all ages, providing top-notch service, first-class food, dining entertainment, and special event hosting to the people of Southern Illinois. I am so thankful Christen could come to Springfield to engage with women from around the state to share her perspective and detail her success and future plans. Her future is bright, and I wish her the very best as she continues to build her businesses. Our entire region is better off because of her vision and effort.”

Severin also hosted Jamie Storey and Madison Moser from the Greater Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce. Storey is Executive Director and Moser is Marketing Director for the Greater Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce. The two were in Springfield on Tuesday for an Illinois Chamber of Commerce event and later joined the “Emerging Women Leaders” event with leading women from around the state.

“The Greater Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce does a tremendous job highlighting local businesses and building networks,” Severin said. “Jamie Storey and Madison Moser work well together to build relationships and to showcase our region to the rest of the state. Everyone knows when the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce is involved in promoting an event, a business, or a service. That is due in large part to the hard work being done by Jamie Storey, Madison Moser, and the entire Greater Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce.”
