Downtown Mt. Vernon is the heart of Jefferson County, Illinois — and it’s a thriving business district full of entrepreneurs and professionals eager to serve local residents and companies.

The Downtown Mt. Vernon Development Corporation brings business owners and professionals together to support, maintain, and revitalize our city’s commercial and cultural assets. By promoting local businesses and sponsoring community events, we draw area residents to the Downtown area. Residents enjoy unique shops and dining options, as well as the timeless Granada Theatre.

During summer months, we host the Market Days farmer’s market, bringing fresh produce and artisan products to the Downtown area. We also hold seasonal promotions like 9th Street’s Santa Claus Lane, complete with carriage rides and live music.
