Power Holdings
Power Holdings, a $1 billion project, is moving forward with a synthetic natural gas gasification plant in Jefferson County. The construction is expected to create 1200 construction jobs over three years and 600 full time jobs in mining and administration when the construction is completed.

Mt. Vernon Senior Housing
Mt. Vernon Senior Housing - Construction has begun on the 50 unit affordable senior housing on South 42nd Street in Mount Vernon.
Doe Run Housing Development
Doe Run is an age restricted market rate condominium project in the northeast part of Mount Vernon This redevelopment project has the potential for 200 units at completion and will be built in stages. The plans include a walking path, golf greens, lake and other amenities.
Continental Tire N.A. Expansion
The 250,00 sq ft warehouse is complete as well as the tandem mixer project. The expansion of the truck tire department has begun. Continental Tire N.A. has invested over $160 million in technology and capital improvements to their facility.
Cedarhurst Center for the Arts expansion
Cedarhurst Center for the Arts is constructing a 23,000 SF

Construction has begun on the new struck stop on State Route 15 and is expected to be completed by January 1, 2008.

Mount Vernon Mold Works recently completed a 40,000 SF expansion. Mt. Vernon Mold maintains and restores tire molds.
Boroviaks IGA Gas Station
Boroviaks, as regional grocer, has completed construction of an IGA gas station next to its facility on South 10th Street in Mount Vernon. This project is indicative of the redevelopment and regeneration of the downtown area of Mt. Vernon.
Byrd Watson Drug Store
Byrd Watson Drug Store, family owned and operated in the downtown area for several years has built a new facility at 12th and Main. Their initial location in downtown on 9th Street is being renovated and expanded for this gift and home decor store called “Dish on the Square”.
The Rex
The Rex, a meeting/conference/reception facility has been completed. The Rex, at 824 Main Street, was purchased by Jay and Chanda Koch has been completely renovated.
Sherwin Williams
Sherwin Williams has completed their move to their new location at 4805 Broadway. Their new building is 10,000 Sq Ft.

Welcomes the Apple Dumplins restaurant to the complex.
Westmont Apartments
Westmont has adding 10 units to their facility. The addition has eight two bedroom and two three bedroom apartments.
