City of Mount Vernon Tax Increment Financing Districts

Tax Increment Financing is a development tool used by the City of Mt. Vernon to promote economic development and redevelopment. Using the incremental revenues in the TIF, the City is able to undertake economic development activities or provide subsidies that otherwise might not be possible in order to encourage job creation, increase property values, and to protect the local tax base.

TIF district benefits to a project are awarded on a case by case basis and are negotiated with the City of Mt. Vernon. The areas of Mt. Vernon TIF Districts can be viewed below:
